Our next field trip is on Sunday 14th January when we visit the WWT reserve at Martin Mere.

What makes Martin Mere truly world class are the many thousands of migrant wild ducks,

geese, waders and swans which over-winter at this Ramsar-rated marshland and especially

the spectacular displays of feather and flight provided by huge migrant flocks of Pink-footed Geese, Wigeon and Whooper Swans and often, a rare species blown in by cold weather.

Further details about the reserve can be found at

Meet at the reserve car park at 10.00am

Situated off the A59, the Centre is signposted from junction 8 on the M61, junction 3 on the M58 and junction 27 on the M6. It is free to park at the Centre
