female Blackcap again in the garden … fortunately she wasn’t on the breakfast menu … just awol for a few days.

The female Blackcap that has been with us daily since 29 December hasn’t been seen for the past two days. Hopefully, this is not connected to the Sparrowhawk seen having breakfast two days ago. Strangely there is no evidence of any pluckings.

One of those mad half hours in the garden … 2 Blue Tit, 2 Robin, 4 Blackbird, 6 House Sparrow, 8 Starling, 3 Dunnock, 5 Chaffinch, Great Tit, 3 Greenfinch, 2 Coal Tit, 2 Goldfinch, 2 Crow, 3 Woodpigeon, Blackcap and Brambling … now the feeders need refilling

Yesterday; 2 fieldfare and 1 mistle thrush feeding on the few apples left on the apple trees – unfortunately in my neighbour’s garden, the wrong side of the hedge!

Song Thrush back again today, singing away.
Coal, Great, Blue and Long-tailed Tits on feeders, also about 10 House Sparrows.
Only recently put feeders back up because it was attracting rats before.

Redpoll very briefly in the garden this afternoon. Unfortunately, Janet wasn’t quick enough to see it !!
