5 wader species for us at Doddington this morning,Greenshank,2 Green Sandpipers,Common Sandpiper,Snipe and a few Lapwing.Also in the mix,2 Red Kite over the main road,Kingfisher on the main lake and 1 across the Lemon Pool,also a family group of Reed Warblers at the latter,Kestrel and on the pool at least 25 Little Grebe,4 Shoveler,1 Teal.

2 Marsh Harriers over the estate at Doddington this morning,showing on and off for 15 minutes.Also 2 Greenshank on the spit opposite the island and a Green Sandpiper in flight along the island.

2 Snipe on the puddle at Doddington this morning and the only bird of note at Lea Forge was a very obliging Garden Warbler.

At Doddington this morning coot 720, canada goose 190, mute swan 67 on the main pool and 11 tufted on the Lemon Pool. Might help with the WeBS count John!

Kingfisher between the Steamboat and the weir; also oppsites the flats on the riverside walk.

We’re doing well for Red Kites recently,another this morning heading towards Nantwich from the high ground at Lea Forge Wybunbury.Also year tick Lesser Whitethroat,Garden Warbler and always a treat to see a pair of Bullfinch.

2 Red Kites to the S.W. of the Lemon Pool at Doddington this morning and around the pool a family of Ravens and a Bullfinch in song.On the main weeded up main lake,2 juv and 2 adult Common Sandpipers on th island,a Kingfisher perched up by the hall,6 Swifts over but just 2 female Shovelers of any difference on the water.Sparrowhawk and Red-l Partridge also noted.

At Doddington this morning I was surprised at the extent of the green weed and how thick it was with even coots walking on it. I managed to count 84 mute swans and 640 coot with 12 moorhens plus a few brown ducks. They should moult back into guide book plumage soon!
