A pair of Pintails at Doddington this morning is almost becoming an annual event!Also 5 Pochard and 2 Shovelers,a small flock of a dozen Redpoll and the female Stonechat close to the sailing club.

Around 100 Pink-f Geese over Doddington heading S.W. and Stonechat still on the wire.Also this morning,Kingfisher,Meadow Pipits,Skylarks,Raven and Jays.Abysmal on the pool with just 2 Teal apart from the regulars!

At Doddington this morning with John doing a WeBS count. Less than ten each of wigeon, shoveler and tufted; 73 mute swans and stonechat and mipits on the wires

At Doddington this morning only 26 gulls present after last night’s roost of over 5,000 but it did make it easier to spot the 2 sandwich terns that were very active and vocal. 78 mute swans also present and many geese but the only ducks I could find were 16 tufted on the Lemon Pool.

At Doddington this evening to do an autumn count for the BTO Winter Gull Survey. More birds than expected with totals of 3,600 lesser black-backed and1,600 black-headed.

A Hobby straight through at Doddington this afternoon heading south,5 Snipe over in the opposite direction and a Peregrine over the wood.Resident Kestrel also present as were 8 House Martins.
