It looks like the local starlings have fledged young around the same time. I have suddenly gone from my resident two to over 20, more than half of them fledglings. I love watching the antics of these birds like the one now, as a young one is standing right next to a suet ball on the lawn but won’t touch it itself as it shouts at its parent to feed it! And especially when up to six try to get in the small bird bath at the same time.

Spotted our first fledgeling Blackbird only to watch it taken by a Sparrowhawk … such is life.
